One of the Otsuka Pharmaceutical Group's nucleus enterprises is well regarded

liquids. The company is an international leader, recognized for research,
development, and manufacturing of intravenous liquids as well as medical
liquids used in injections, and for plastic containers.
A few projects based on sodium chloride obtained in the salt fields of
Naruto include the development of new medicines and the redesign of containers
and intravenous liquid-related systems. The company plays an active role
in the international medical community, holding about 45% of the national
market share for the manufacturing of intravenous liquids. Some products
